BenRiach – 10 Years Old

Big thanks to @StevePrentice for the sample. Bottled at 43%, finished in bourbon and sherry casks. Nose: Sweet dried fruits, oak, vanilla, nutmeg and cloves. There’s a sort of potting compost, earthy smell. Palate: Quite oily, with a spicy hit. Honey sweet, with a little oaky dryness as well. Lots of dried fruits. Cinnamon spice. Finish: Long, subtle spice and oaky dryness.

BenRiach – Batch 1

Another first for me. Not had BenRiach before. Good way to start too. Bottled at 57.2% ABV. Nose: Foam bananas, honey, plenty of vanilla and oak intermingling. Palate: Barley sugars, pineapple, apples, apricots, plenty of oaky spice, Finish: Surprisingly mellow, apples and pears linger with a lovely warming sensation.
