Huge thanks to Whisky Santa for this surprise he sent out to me in the middle of the year. I understand from the chaps at Master of Malt that he had over-ordered for 2017 and so decided to offload before restocking for 2018. Very kind of him indeed!
Bottled at 43% ABV.
Nose: Marzipan, raisins, rum, milk chocolate, light hints of oak, almonds. 8/10
Palate: Sweet, peppery spice, honey, oaky dryness, charred wood, black tea. 7/10
Finish: Lingering spice and dryness. Really nice. 10/10
Value for money: Usually around £125 a bottle, but then it is 25 years old. 7/10
Looks: Fabulous colour, a little old fashioned bottle style. 8/10
