This is the final dram of my generous prize from Wemyss Malts. It’s a 1990 Bladnoch, bottled in 2015, at 46%.
Nose: Honey dew melon, oak, quite sweet, pineapple, maybe slightly sulphuric
Palate: Honey sweet with oak, spicy, mango, a little leather
Finish: Long, drying and spicy.
This was enjoyable enough, but not my favourite of the 5 by a long way. The scores as follows:
- Nose: 7/10
- Palate: 7/10
- Finish: 8/10
- Value for money: 7/10
- Looks: 6/10
Giving a grand score of 72/100.
